dc.description.abstractVocabulary is the foundation for developing a language ability. Without a large vocabulary knowledge, students frequently perform below their ability and may become discouraged from using languages. Animated videos like Powtoon can benefit learners by helping them enrich their vocabulary abilities. This study aims to determine whether using Powtoon animated videos assisted by teacher explanation significantly improves seventh-grade students’ vocabulary achievement in the classroom. The researcher used a quasi-experimental post-test-only design with the method used in this study was quantitative. In this study, the researcher used two classes with 29 students in an Islamic junior high school. The difference in scores between students in both classes showed that the mean score of the experimental class (35.57) was higher than that of the control class (23.43). Based on data analysis using the Mann-Whitney test by using SPSS 25, The Asypm. Sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.005 < 0.05, indicating a positive significant difference between the scores of students in the experimental and control classes. Hence, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It was found that the use of Powtoon animated videos assisted by teacher explanation has a significant effect on seventh-grade students’ vocabulary achievement. Powtoon animated videos made it easier for teachers and students to teach and learn in the learning process.en_US
