dc.description.abstractThis research aims to analyze students' errors in constructing the concept of integer operations based on assimilation and accommodation. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were students of class VII B MTs Baitul Hikmah Tempurejo as many as 16 students. Data collection methods in this study include tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques were carried out through the stages of analyzing test results, interviews, and triangulation to ensure the validity of the data. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that all subjects experienced concept construction errors. There are 4 types of concept construction errors that occur, namely Pseudo Construction, Construction Hole, Mis-logical Construction and Mis-analogical Construction. Pseudo Construction occurs when the subject only memorizes, such as “negative meets negative the result is positive”, without a deeper understanding of the concept. Construction holes occur when the subject's answer is wrong due to incomplete understanding or failure to understand the problem. Mis-logical Construction occurs when subjects make incorrect assumptions or conclusions, while Mis-analogical construction involves false analogies, such as equating the concept of addition of negative numbers with addition of positive numbers.en_US
