dc.description | The 14th FSTPT International Symposium, Pekanbaru, 11-12 November 2011 | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Exploration of the soil stabilization agents is rapidly conducted. The wood charcoal is easily found at the store in Indonesia. It has high capacity to absorb water. This work intended to investigate geotechnical properties of remolded clay – wood charcoal powder mixed. The percentages of powder at soil mixed are 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%. The results show that the addition of the wood charcoal powder to remolded clay will reduce its plasticity index and moisture content. The Public Work Department requirement for subgrade (PI < 10%) can be reach with 15% addition of powder. The moisture content for soaked samples decreases with increasing powder content. Even, it reaches close to the un-soaked moisture content at 30% of powder content. The maximum value of both un-soaked and soaked CBR value are 37.5 and 28.98 respectively that is reached at 20% powder content | en_US |
