Abstract: This research discusses the issue of existential feminism which discusses the existence of the role of women which has only been an object for men. The goal is to reveal a form of effort or struggle carried out by women to obtain equal rights with men and also no longer seen as an object but as a subject. This research was carried out qualitatively because of the use of non-numerical data. The primary data of this study is a book entitled 'The Sonnets from Portuguese' which is used as the main material for this research. Meanwhile, secondary data is taken from journals, theses, articles and also books that can support the discussion in this study. Semiotic analysis from Michael Riffattere is the main tool to dissect the issues in this study so that it is found that there is a struggle by writing a message in the sonata implicitly which shows how women are treated, how women suffer, and also how heavy women are because they are considered not subjects but objects.
