Abstract: | Kale plant is a plant that belongs to the cabbage family. In cultivation, there are two factors that determine production or yield, namely genetic and environmental factors. Genetic factors include the use of varieties (nero lacinato, dawf curly blue sorch and dawf red russian) and environmental factors include where plants can grow and develop, which can be engineered through hydroponic cultivation. The problems faced in hydroponic cultivation are: planting media still depends on rockwold media, rockwooll media is expensive and difficult to obtain, and rockwoll dust can cause skin irritation to respiratory problems. The solution that can be done is to use organic media which includes: cocopeat, husk charcoal and moss. This study aims to determine the interaction between the types of planting media with varieties on the yield of kale plants. This study was conducted using RAL (Complete Randomized design) 2 factors, namely media and variety. The results showed that the interaction treatment of planting media and variety had a real effect on the observation variables: plant height, plant wet weight and plant dry weight. The treatment of the growing medium had a very significant effect on all observed variables including: plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, root volume (outside and inside the media), fresh weight and dry weight of the plant. The treatment of kale varieties has a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves and root length. |
