dc.description.abstract | This study examines the Griya Batik Barata Home Industry in Tegalwaru Village, Mayang District, Jember Regency in 2015-2023. The problems in this research are (1) what were the background to the establishment of the Griya Batik Barata Home Industry? (2) How was the development of the Griya Batik Barata Home Industry? (3) What was the impact of the Griya Batik Barata Home Industry on socio- economic changes in society? This study used a historical method consisting of heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The theoretical basis used is John Howkins' creative economy theory. The results of this research are that the Home Industry Griya Batik Barata, which was founded by Wahyu Wulandari and Hendik Freadianto in Tegalwaru Village, Mayang District from 2015 to 2023, has factors behind its establishment, including geographical conditions and social conditions of the community, socio-economic factors of the community, and family factors. Home Industry Griya Batik Barata from 2015 to 2023 as an industry experienced developments involving various aspects within it. Several aspects include aspects such as capital, human resources, wage systems and employer policies towards workers, production, batik materials, marketing strategies, products produced, and achievements that have been obtained. The Home Industry Griya Batik Barata batik motif has its own characteristics that batik from other regions does not have, namely the hibiscus leaf motif. Home Industry Griya Batik Barata's typical batik motif is a waru leaf motif because it is located in Tegalwaru Village, whose icon is a waru tree. Apart from the hibiscus leaf motif, there are also motifs which are characteristic of Griya Batik Barata, motifs and meanings contained in the unique Home Industry batik motifs of Griya Batik Barata, namely the Pandhalungan motif and the Pancar Warna batik motif. Griya Batik Barata has had an impact on socio-economic changes in society, namely providing new job opportunities and making batik the main livelihood. The socio-cultural impact on the community is that the local community can know that batik is a unique Indonesian ancestral cultural heritage whose existence must be preserved. | en_US |
