Abstract: Identity is something that refers to a social category or group of people marked with a label that is differentiated based on membership rules and characteristics or attributes. It is a multifaceted concept that encompasses the various ways individuals and groups define themselves and are recognized by others. This research conducts a semiotic analysis of one of the Greek mythology figures, namely Themis as the Goddess of Justice, which is incorporated into the logos of several student organizations at the Faculty of Law, University of Jember. The elements found in the logos are the primary focus of this study to play a significant role in shaping the interpretation of the organization's identity. The study focuses on how the visual elements of these logos communicate the identity, values, and missions of the organizations through the use of signs categorized as icons, indexes, and symbols. This study underscores the importance of semiotics in understanding and designing effective logos that resonate with both members and the broader audience, ultimately enhancing the visibility and coherence of student organizations within the Faculty of Law.
