This research specifically addressed the issue of the mechanism of solid waste management at hospitals. This was a chase study type. An analysis on the results of a hospital solid waste input-process-output evaluation revealed factors influencing the process of solid waste management as part of a strategic issue to be addressed by the hospital; grounding the basis for an improvement plan and operation that will support a draft for an improvement effort. Grounded on researcher deduction and a Nominal group Technique (NGT) activity, a draft for an effort was chosen, from those projected, to serve as a reference for the resolution of future as well as current issues. Research results revealed Hospital operations to be improving, as shown by the increase in number of service provided. Solid waste produced by each and every ward is categorized into medical solid waste and non- medical solid. Solid waste management at the Hospital involves shorting-out, stockpiling, transporting, and dissolving processes. Discrepancies between the application of this solid waste management process and the set standard operating procedure is evident. Issues arising in the application of waste management processes are influence by the Human Resources, budgetary, high volume of medical solid waste, supporting equipment, standard operating procedure, and time factors. It is recommended that training, seminar, refreshing programs and evaluations on the standard operating procedure is important in order to inmprove the management of solid waste.en_US
