Abstract: | Solar energy can be used as an alternative to solar power generation. Solar energy is good energy because it doesn't damage the environment, but the drawback is that it is inconsistent. Therefore, a cooling system is needed to reduce the temperature of solar panels in order to produce electricity effectively and efficiently. This study aims to explain the effect of cooling on the performance efficiency of solar panels. The research method used in this thesis is an experimental research method. The experimental research method is a scientific research approach that is carried out with the aim of testing hypotheses and determining causal relationships between certain variables. The results showed that there was an effect of cooling flow discharge on solar panel efficiency and the influence of cooling flow discharge on the total net power of solar panels. The effect of the cooling flow rate on the efficiency of the solar panel is that the greater the cooling flow rate, the higher the current and voltage generated by the solar panel. The current and voltage of the solar panels decrease at temperatures above 42ºC because the solar panels experience overheating. The greater the coolant flow rate, the more stable the surface temperature of the solar panel. A high flow rate of coolant can reduce the panel surface temperature faster than a low flow rate. In addition, the greater the cooling flow rate, the higher the efficiency of the solar panel and the total net power of the solar panel. |
