Abstract: This research examines the violence in William Golding's Lord of the Flies. The author's experience and perspective served as a significant impact on the novel. The goal of this study is to uncover the representation of violence and its relationship to Golding's critical position on human nature. To address current research issues, a qualitative descriptive method was used. The theory used in this study is Stuart Hall's representation theory combined with Foucault's discursive approach. The results of this study confirm the discourse of violence, which reflects the author's critical perspective on the topic of violence and human nature
