dc.description.abstractResearch on students’ experiences of online learning during the pandemic is important to understand their responses and perceptions. Online learning is crucial for education as technology continues to advance, and it plays a significant role in facilitating and supporting the educational process. Studying students’ perceptions can provide valuable insights into their attitudes and behaviors during online learning. This descriptive study aimed to describe Ninth Grade students’ perceptions of online English learning during the pandemic. A simple quantitative approach was used with a sample of 50 students selected through the lottery method. Google Forms was employed to distribute the online questionnaires, which explored various aspects related to students’ perceptions. The use of Google Forms offered advantages such as automated data collection, real-time access and analysis, built-in data analysis features, and the ability to download data in different formats. Overall, the study utilized Google Forms effectively for data collection and analysis, providing valuable insights for decision-making and drawing conclusions. The analysis of this study describes students’ perceptions of online English learning during the pandemic across ten key areas: technical issues, motivation and engagement, time management, limited social interaction, adaptation to online learning, access and support, assessment and feedback, personal responsibility, and language barriers. Common challenges include technical difficulties, lack of motivation, time management issues, limited social interaction, and the need for adaptation. Strategies such as technical support, creating a positive learning environment, promoting interaction, and fostering personal responsibility can address these challenges and enhance student engagement and success in online English learning. Suggested areas for further research in online English learning include studying the effectiveness of technical support measures, investigating strategies for engagement and motivation, and examining effective communication and support systems. These studies can contribute to enhancing the quality of online learning experiences for students during the pandemic and beyond.en_US
