Abstract: Health is one of the important priorities of all countries, it because the quality of human resources is a factor in the success of economic and technological development. One of the health factors of each individual is influenced by a healthy lifestyle and it is closely related to a balanced nutritional diet with taking a variety of foods. This includes all food and drinks consumed in a day. An unhealthy diet can lead to various health diseases such as obesity, diabetes, etc. Each individual has different nutritional and calorie needs based on his weight, height, and age. The food menu depends on how the food is consumed by considering variables in it such as the number of calories, the amount of protein, the amount of carbohydrates, and so on. So we need an algorithm model to do it to produce food menu planning recommendations. This study uses a genetic algorithm approach to optimize nutrition in the resulting food menu. The genetic algorithm method used in this study is a nested genetic algorithm with the iteration outer result chromosome for the combination of food chromosome and inner chromosome representing the amount of the food components. The optimal genetic algorithm variable is the population size of the outer iteration is 50 while the inner iteration is 10, the size of generations of outer iteration is 50 while inner iterations of 50, the crossover rate of the outer iteration is 0.8 while the inner iteration is 0.4, and for the mutation rate of outer iteration is 0.6 while the inner iteration is 1.0.
