PEREMPUAN MISKIN DAN KEJADIAN TETANUS NEONATORUM (TN) : SIAPA YANG BERTANGGUNG JAWAB ?

Abstract

Tetanus Neonatorum (TN) is one most risk disease caused death. TT status screening program has been implemented by Jember District Health Department in early 2010 as follow up from the cases and deaths of TN were still high (CFR >50%). However, there are 6 cases and 3 deaths of TN. It occured because pregnan woman from poor family did birth process on witchdoctor. So they got unsafe and unclean services. The purpose of this study was to analyze the behaviour of prenant woman from poor family with TN case did birth process in witchdoctor. This reseach used qualitative method, by indepth interview to prenant woman from poor family with TN case. Data is analised by thematic content analysis. The results showed that all respondent using witchdoctor in birth process hereditery because of cost factor and family tradition.They had positive attitude at posyandu service, midwife, and witchdoctor. They didn’t have knowledge about TN. So there’s no effort discreasing risk factor. However, they came to posyandu, they did birth process in wictdoctor. It showed poor society hasn’t understanded about health and savety for pregnant woman. Moreover, goverment must be increasing in sozialitation widwife and witchdoctor partnership program in village contented poor family.
