dc.description.abstractTB patient adherence is a determining factor in the success of TB treatment. The procurement of TB treatment supporters is one of the Government's efforts to optimize patient adherence, which depends on the TB treatment supporter’s interpersonal communication skills with patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze the interpersonal communication relationship between TB treatment supporters and adherence to taking medication for TB patients in the Ajung Jember Health Center Work Area. This study used a cross-sectional study design with a study population of all TB patients who were taking TB treatment in the Ajung Jember Health Center Working Area from November 2022-April 2023, used 69 new cases. The research sample was taken based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria using the total sample technique and, 47 respondents were obtained. Data collection used interpersonal communication questionnaires and the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) questionnaire. Inferential analysis using Spearman's rho test. The results showed that the majority of TB treatment supporter interpersonal communication in the high category (87.2%), the majority of the medication adherence of TB patients in the high category (53.2%), there was no significant relationship between interpersonal communication of TB treatment supporter and adherence to taking medication (pvalue 0.067), there was a significant relationship between communication indicators of supportive, positive attitudes, and equality with TB patient medication adherence (p-value <0.05). In conclusion, overall, TB treatment supporter interpersonal communication has no relationship with adherence, but there is a relationship in the indicators of supportive, positive, and equal attitudes. So that TB treatment supporter’s need to improve interpersonal communication skills by attending socialization and training.en_US
