dc.description.abstractWomen who work outside the home will carry out two roles at once, namely a domestic role and a public role, because economic conditions do not encourage women to work to help meet their daily needs. The aim of this research is to describe the role of women in the family's economic contribution. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were female home industry workers at UD. Burno Sari, Senduro Lumajang District. The data collection methods used in this research are interview, observation and document methods. Data analysis methods in this research include data presentation, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. Test the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The research results show that female home industry workers at UD. Burno Sari, Senduro Lumajang District, plays a dual role, namely as a housewife and a worker. Domestic roles are carried out before going to work which include cooking, cleaning the house, sweeping, mopping, washing clothes, taking care of husband and children, and educating children. While the role of the public is working in the processing of banana chips and sale of home industry UD. Burno Sari Senduro Lumajang District to earn income. Roles performed as banana peeler, frying, sale production and packaging. The husband's poor economic background and income causes a woman to work as well. The contribution of women in the family can be seen from the wages given to help with their daily needs. The wages earned are deemed sufficient to help the husband fulfill family needs such as basic needs, namely clothing, food and shelter as well as children's educational needs.en_US
