Abstract: Abstract This study is exploring on what the teacher’s problems in teaching speaking by using role play in low speaking class. The objective is to identify the problems that the teacher is facing in teaching speaking by using role play in low speaking achievement class. The research deign of this study is descriptive case study. the researcher believed that descriptive case study research design could be the suitable method to obtain deeper and richer information from the teacher. The findings reveal the teacher are facing several problems in teaching speaking by using role play in low speaking class related to the time management and the students’ performances. The teacher examines the students by using speaking scoring rubric that consist of four aspects of speaking score which are grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency.
