Abstract: The addition of magnetic field treatment to the combustion process is still rarely a concern because it is associated with improving the combustion properties of biodiesel fuel. This research discusses the effect of varying magnetic fields on the combustion characteristics of palm oil biodiesel droplets. The magnetic field treatment given in this research was at a distance of 2 cm, 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm with palm oil biodiesel which was given 5% nanoparticles in the form of bentonite. Palm oil biodiesel fuel was dropped into droplets with a size of 1 ml and the burning process of the droplets was recorded using a camera under atmospheric conditions. Palm oil biodiesel is dripped at the end of the thermocouple connection and heated with a nickel heater made from a coil with a diameter of 0.4 mm. The parameters to look for are flame temperature, ignition delay, burning rate, and flame visualization. The research results show an increase in flame temperature, ignition delay, and burning rate along with increasing magnetic field distance. The flame height with increasing magnetism will produce a short maximum height. Keywords: combustion, droplet, magnetic field, bentonite, and palm oil biodiesel
