Aspek Framing dalam Sinematografi Film Wahyu (Revelation) : Penerapan Psikoanalisis - Jacques Lacan

Abstract

In the life of Islamic boarding schools, there is a phenomenon that has become a tradition related to gay behavior carried out by santri, know as “mairil” and “nyempet”. The term “mairil” in general is an act of affection carried out by santri which can be manifested in various forms of sexual behavior called “nyempet”. The movie Wahyu (Revelation) tells the story of a homosexsual case taht occured in an islamic boarding school. Homosexuality is the issue raised because this issue has become a widespread issue and is an open secret among students and boarding schools. But not all boarding schools in Indonesia have cases like this (homosexsuality), but this case is quite troubling if we remember that boarding schools are islamic religious-based education places where student are educated to become moral human beings. In this film, the author want to place cinematography by describing the development phase of the character’s personality by using Jacques Lacan’s psychoanalysis theory in the framing aspect. This aims to build more information through visuals so that the audience gets information related to the narrative element
