Abstract: The general study of this thesis is about detestation of fellow blacks and racism. The main point of the discussion is about the world view of Angie Thomas as the author of the novel through an analysis of her novel, The Hate U Give. This thesis used genetic structuralism by Lucien Goldmann. There are three problems to discuss in this thesis. The first problem to discuss is the detestation of fellow blacks in America in the 21st century. The second is to discuss the detestation constructed in the novel. The last is a discussion about the author's world view.  This thesis aims to gain an author's perspective. The method used is dissecting significant parts of the novel and comparing them with the context of the author's life.
