Abstract: The domestic demand for oil and gas is increasing every time. In old fields which still have quite a lot of oil left in the reservoir has a high price to be produced. Meanwhile, oil production which actually decreasing everytime is the background of this research. One of the efforts that can be made to increase oil production is optimizing the field by using enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques. The EOR technique that can be used is chemical injection (chemical flooding) using anionic surfactants. There are 2 test methods used, fluid to fluid which includes a compatibility test, IFT test, phase behavior test, thermal stability test, and static adsorption test, and the second method is fluid to rock which includes an imbibition test. Anionic surfactants with various salinities and concentrations were tested in the IFT test which then obtained the lowest CMC results at a concentration of 0.5% 20,000 ppm in light oil and a concentration of 0.3%, 30,000 ppm in intermediate oil. As a result, the sample formed a Winsor phase III microemulsion, the sample performance was stable at increasing temperature from day to day, and the adsorption tended to be large, as well as oil production from the core is quiet maximum based on imbibition test.
