Abstract: Qualifications of Human Resources to face the challenges of the 21st century are required to have critical thinking skills. Meanwhile, one of the skills needed in learning physics is verbal, graphic, and mathematical representation skills (VGM). Students' critical thinking skills and R-VGM skills in learning are still weak, therefore an innovation in learning is needed, one of which is a learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the DIIASE learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills and R-VGM skills in physics learning in high school. This research is a development research using 4D development design. The method used was a purposive sampling area method so that 4 schools were obtained, namely SMAN 3 Jember for small and large class trials, while for distribution schools, namely SMAN Mumbulsari, SMAN Jenggawah, and SMAN Ambulu. The test subjects were students of class X SMA. The results obtained were that the DIIASE learning model was declared valid, practical, and effective for improving students' critical thinking skills and R-VGM skills in high school physics learning.
