Parallel Editing dalam Membangun Komedi pada Film Bike Boyz

Abstract

This study used the subject of Bike Boyz, investigating parallel editing as a builder of comedy. The research aims to understand and comprehend parallel editing as a builder of comedy in the film Bike Boyz. The study employed Thompson & Bowen's theory of parallel editing and Kirby Olson's theory of comedy to differentiate and analyze the research data. The research data analyzed the use of parallel editing as a builder of comedy in the film Bike Boyz. According to the research findings, there are six different types of comedy elements represented by eight scenes. The dominant comedic characteristics can create a joyful and humorous atmosphere in the film Bike Boyz. This can entertain the audience and make them feel happy and laugh at the scenes performed by the characters. Thus, it can be concluded that the parallel editing used supports the realization of comedy in the eight scenes of the film Bike Boyz.
