Abstract: Science literacy in Indonesia is still relatively low, ranking 70th out of 78 countries in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA). Science literacy skills are also needed to address the low learning outcomes and problem solving skills that are contextual to the daily lives of students in coffee plantations. The objectives of this study are; (1) to determine the effect of problem solving learning model combined with STEM-KIT media on students' science literacy in coffee plantation area, (2) to determine the effect of problem solving learning model combined with STEM-KIT media on students' learning outcomes in coffee plantation area. This type of research is a quasi- experiment (quasiexperiment) type pretest-posttest control group desaign. The research was conducted at SMAN Mumbulsari Jember in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Determination of the sample using random sampling technique with normality and homogeneity test first, obtained two classes as treatment, namely class X.2 as experimental class and X.6 as control class. Data collection techniques include observation, interview, documentation and test. The data analyzed are science literacy skills and student learning outcomes in the cognitive and psychomotor domains. The results showed that; (1) There is a significant difference in the problem solving learning model combined with STEM-KIT media on students' science literacy in the coffee plantation area. (2) Problem solving learning model combined with STEM-KIT media has a significant effect on students' biology learning outcomes in coffee plantation areas. This research is expected to provide benefits, insights, and new innovations for students, teachers, and other researchers
