Abstract: Workload is a large feeling of being able to complete the work carried out because the demands received are quite large so that mental disorders or work stress arise. This research aims to analyze the association between workload and work stress among rice farmers in Sumbersari District, Jember Regency. This research method uses correlation analysis through a cross-sectional approach, carried out on 290 respondents using purposive sampling. The questionnaire in this research uses the Workload and Job Stress questionnaire referred to by Intani (2013). Data were analyzed using Kendall's Tau-b test. The results of the research show that farm workers in Sumbersari sub-district experience a significant workload (p-value = 0.000), where the majority experience a high workload of 77.8%. Farm workers in Sumbersari sub-district experience significant work stress (p-value = 0.000), where the majority experience severe work stress at 51.1%. Based on the research results, there is a significant relationship between workload and work stress (p-value = <0.001), a weak and positive relationship was identified (r = 0.175). It can be concluded that there is an association or relationship between workload and work stress, the higher the workload score, the higher the work stress score. Therefore, it is important for agricultural workers to reduce their workload to reduce the risk of work stress.
