Abstract: Introduction: Adolescent development is characterized by the escalating influence of peer relationships. Peers play a pivotal role, particularly in matters related to sexuality, rendering adolescents susceptible to engaging in risky behaviors. These behaviors may be linked to adolescents perceiving sexual relationships as a means of expressing emotions towards their partners. Objective: This study aims to scrutinize the connection between the influence of peers and premarital sexual perceptions among eleventh-grade students in urban high schools in Jember. Methodology: The research employs a correlational research design through a cross-sectional study. The sample comprises 117 respondents selected using total sampling. Data collection involves questionnaires assessing the role of peers and premarital sexual perceptions. Results: Peer influence is positively observed in 65% of cases, with 59% exhibiting moderate premarital sexual perceptions. The correlation between peer influence and premarital sexual perceptions is statistically significant (p= 0.0001, r= -0.550). Conclusion: A highly significant correlation is identified between peer influence and premarital sexual perceptions among eleventh-grade students in urban high schools in Jember. Consequently, there is a need for reproductive health interventions targeting peers to disrupt the cycle that may lead to negative premarital sexual perceptions in adolescents.
