Penerapan Metode Steganografi Difference Expansion (DE) Sebagai Alternatif Otentikasi pada Media Penyimpanan Online

Abstract

System security is an important component to protect data in the system, one method that is often used for system security is authentication. Authentication is a method for identifying users who are using the system, most authentication uses validation in the form of email and password. The weakness of text authentication is that when the browser used by the user has a system that automatically stores passwords, this makes it easy for other people who do not have access rights to enter the system. To overcome this problem, there is an alternative authentication using images by utilizing the Difference Expansion (DE) method of steganography. Authentication using images can be an alternative because browsers cannot save an image as automatic authentication. The image used as an authentication tool has the capacity to store 17,835 bit characters and has a similarity level of around 32.8 dB through the PSNR test. Based on the character capacity and similarity value, the image provided by the system can be used as an authentication tool and functions well.
