Abstract: | This research was carried out in class IV at SDN Wonokusumo 02 Bondowoso. This research was motivated by students lack of understanding of rules for writing capital letters and word choice. The purpose of this research is to describe students abilities in writing personal opinion in terms of word choice and spelling use. This research is qualitative descriptive study. The subject of this research were the entire population of class IV students at SDN Wonokusumo 02 Bondowoso with a total of 10 students. Data collection methods include observation, documentation, and interviews. The data obtained was then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman data analysis technique. This data analysis technique consist of three strages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and observation. Based of the result data analysis, it is know that the pencentage of stuudents errors in writing capital letters (KPHK) in writing personal opinion was 24,76%, which is in the low category. While the percentage of students word choice errors (KPK) in writing personal opinion was 3,83%, which was include in the very low category. Based on the explanation above it can be concluded that the writing ability of class IV students at SDN Wonousumo 02 Bondowoso is relatively high.
