Abstract: Science education is currently directed at preparing students to live successfully in the 21st century. One of the skills students need in the 21st century is scientific literacy. Apart from that, the ability to think creatively is also a skill that needs to be developed in this industrial revolution 4.0 era. Scientific literacy and students' creative thinking skills still weak in learning, therefore we need an innovation in learning, one of which is the learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity,practicality, and effectiveness of the SLL learning model to improve students’ literacy science and creative thinking skills in natural science learning in junior high school. This research is a development research using Reeves Plomp development design. The method used was a purposive sampling area method so that 3 schools were obtained, namely SMPN 7 Jember for small and large class trials, while for distribution schools, namely SMPN 2 Jember and SMPN 4 Jember. The test subjects were students of class VIII SMP. The results obtained were that the SLL learning model was declared valid, practical, and effective for improving students' literacy science skills and creative thinking skills in junior high school natural science learning.
