dc.description.abstractThe phenomenon of film adaptations based on novels gave rise to the term Ekranisation. Ekranisation is the translation/ or transfer/ elevation of a novel into a film. Novels and films are two works of different mediums. Therefore, it causes some differences. This research analyses the impact of the changes in narrative elements. Because novels and films both have narrative elements. Using descriptive qualitative research method with narrative analysis. The novels and films studied are Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus DibayarTuntas. The process of ekranisation causes changes in narrative elements, namely shrinkage, addition and varied changes. The most common change is the reduction in the plot. Then, it affects the changes in other narrative elements. The changes were made because the film requires a more focused and directed character storytelling, film as a concrete storytelling media requires concrete time and space, and also because the film has limited duration.en_US
