Abstract: The Maze Runner is an example of a science fiction novel that depicts racial harmony in it. In several cases in the novel, it is explained that there is equality in group life regardless of race and skin color. The first aim of this study is to find out how the novel represents racial harmony. The second aim is to know what is the critical position of the author in this novel. This study uses qualitative research. Observation and document use are used as methods in qualitative research. The discourse that related to the story in the novel will be paired, and it can determine whether the author supports, negotiates, or rejects the construction of racial harmony. It can be concluded that this novel focuses on racial harmony. This study uses representation theory to make it easier to describe racial harmony in The Maze Runner through the language. The novel portrays racial harmony with the growth of each individual, several of the supporting characters are from different ethnic backgrounds, despite the fact that the novel's main characters are westerners. The author makes an effort to demonstrate that not all western characters are always dominant and that it is possible to achieve racial harmony within each character.
