dc.description.abstractIn Indonesia, electrical energy consumption has increased and must balance with the maintenance of power plant instruments, including the heat exchanger. Tube or pipe leaks are one of the primary causes of heat exchanger failure. This research aims to determine the effect of radius bends on the stress of U-tube SA213 GR T22. Stress analysis used Ansys software on U-tubes radius 40mm, 51mm, 62mm, 73mm, and 84mm with the internal and external pressure of 19.61Mpa and 2,25Mpa. From this research, we know that the highest von-mises stress is 75.302Mpa on the 40mm radius U-tube, then the smallest von-mises stress value is 68.961Mpa on the 84mm radius U-tube. From this research, we can determine that the U-tube has not failed because the von-mises stress is still under the yield stress of the material SA213 Gr T22, which is 205 MPa.en_US
