Abstract: Management of solid medical waste is one of the responsibilities of every hospital and individual health care provider as medical waste producers, including nurses. Therefore, nurses must have adequate knowledge about it. There haven't been many studies on nurses' knowledge of solid medical waste in various unit settings. This study aims to analyze differences in nurses' knowledge of solid medical waste management between nurses in inpatient, intensive care, and emergency departments at third-level hospital Baladhika Husada Jember. This study used a comparative research design with 63 respondents obtained through the total sampling method. Data collection was performed using a nurse's knowledge questionnaire about solid medical waste management (Cronbach's Alpha 0.962). The Kruskal Walis test was used to analyze the data, with a significance level of 0.05. The findings revealed that the median score of inpatient, intensive care, and emergency room nurses' knowledge of solid medical waste management was 15.5 (min-max = 5-18), 14 (min-max = 5-16), 13 (min-max = 6-15).
