Abstract: | Physics learning is learning that has a lot of mathematical notation in it, one of which is on alternating current circuit material. Alternating current series circuit has 3 types of circuits including RL circuits, RC circuits, and RLC circuits. This study uses quantitative research by measuring learning outcomes, especially the cognitive aspects of high school students in solving alternating current series circuit problems. The research was conducted at Ambulu High School with a sample class, namely class XII IPA 3 in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 school year with a total of 33 students who were determined through a Purposive Sampling Area. The data were obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest in the form of 20 reasoned multiple choice questions. The results were tested using the N-gain test to determine the increase in student learning outcomes. The results of the study using the overall N-Gain Test showed a value of 0.71 which indicated that there was an increase in student learning outcomes in the high category. So these results explain that the Pythagorean Theorem in solving alternating current series circuit problems can improve cognitive learning outcomes of high school students. |
