Abstract: | Vocabulary is the basic and an important thing to learn. The goal of learning vocabulary is to improve students' communication skills. Therefore, before learning the four skills of listening, reading, writing, and speaking, students need to master vocabulary. Flashcards are a fun and effective learning tool that can be utilized with students. The researcher employed several pictures and words. These reasons drive the researcher to conduct a research on using flashcards to improve students' vocabulary for 10th grade students of Vocational Highschool in Jember. This research employed a post-test-only control group design. Analyzed the data from students’ post-test from both class, experimental class and control class. The data that have been collected then analyzed by using t-test formula from SPSS. It found that the value of significant column of Levene’s Test was 0.07. This means that it was higher than the significant degree (0.05). The value of sig (2-tailed) was 0.02 and it was less than 0.05. It could be revealed that there was a significant effect of using Flashcards on the tenth-grade students’ vocabulary achievement at one of Vocational High Schools in Jember. |
