Abstract: This article describes my research report of how I utilize CL to encourage my senior high school students to communicate in English during my teaching practicum program. This research used a narrative study attempting to explore how I encourage my students to communicate in English via CL. I analyzed the data from the reflective journal by using Braun and Clarks’s (2006) thematic analysis. From the analysis, I developed two themes emerging from the data: (1) utilizing classroom language through managerial talks, (2) utilizing classroom language through managerial talks. The findings showcase how I the English teacher used the classroom language through managerial and instructional talks.
