Abstract: During the pandemic, one of the groups that felt the large impact of COVID-19 is children. Pandemics generate potential risks to child development due to risk of illness, social isolation & increased stress on parents or caregivers. This condition causes preschool children to study at home which will have an impact on child development, including social development in preschool age children. This study aims to determine the description of the social development of preschool age children during the pandemic in RA At-Taqwa, Tembokrejo Muncar Banyuwangi Regency . This study uses a descriptive with a cross-sectional design. The sample of this study was 34 preschool age children but only 27 preschool age children who could become respondents according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample was obtained by total sampling technique, the questionnaire used in this study using VSMS (Vineland Social Maturity Scale). The results showed that preschool age children with a level of social development according to their chronological age were 20 children (74.1%), and children with a level of social development more than their chronological age were 4 children (14.8%) while children with a developmental level of less than the chronological age is 3 children (11,1%). Health workers are expected to be able to increase education and stimulation regarding social development that occurs in preschool age children to reduce the obstacles to social development that occur in children. In addition, nurses can also provide nursing care that is integrated with the family by providing stimulation to children in a family center care approach.
