dc.description.abstractThis article is about ageism in a film. Ageism is a form of discrimination against a person or group due to their age. Ageism can affect anyone, both old and young. There is a scene that tells how Mbah Sri, the main character in the film Pilgrimage is viewed negatively. The purpose of this study is to determine the ageism contained in the film Pilgrimage through mise-en-scene analysis. The results of this study show that the form of ageism in the film Pilgrimage is a reality that we can encounter in everyday life, especially for older people. The theoretical foundation used by researchers is ageism in film and mise-en-scene. The theoretical foundation is used by researchers to analyze data. Researchers use qualitative methods. There are two types of data used, namely primary data and secondary data. The data analysis process is carried out through several steps, namely reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the form of ageism in pilgrimage films is a reality that we can encounter in everyday life, especially for older people. Ageism in the film Pilgrimage is analyzed in four mise-en-scene elements, namely setting, costumes and makeup (make up), lighting (lighting), and the performers and movements (acting).en_US
