Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan Tentang Pertolongan Pertama dengan Metode Snakebite First Aid Application Terhadap Pengetahuan dan Sikap Petani di Kecamatan Panti Kabupaten Jember

Abstract

Snakebite cases are a worldwide health problem. One of the factors in snakebite cases is inappropriate prehospital treatment. This is due to a lack of education regarding the management of snakebite first aid. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education of snakebite first aid using the snakebite first aid application on knowledge and attitude of farmers in Panti, Jember. The design of this study was pre-experimental with one group pre-post test design. 40 participants were recruited with purposive sampling technique. The intervention that provided is participants received the snakebite first aid application as an educational media. Participants filled out questionnaires for pretest and posttest. This activity is carried out for 2 days in 2×50 minutes. The data of this study were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. The results showed that there were significant difference on knowledge and attitude, that is any effect on knowledge (p=0.001) and has no effect on attitude (p=0.317) of farmers after health education. Therefore, using snakebite first aid application method as health education can improve the knowledge and has no effect on attitude of farmer in performing snakebite first aid.
