Abstract

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is a type of cardiovascular disesase that can affect patient’s life. They are including pshychological and physical health that can descrease patient’s quality of life. Self-efficacy is one of the important factors that can help to improve quality of life patient with CAD to control the risk factors. Patient’s self-efficacy can be increase by spiritual intelligence that come form their self. This study aims to analyze the correlation between spiritual intelligence and self-efficacy in patients with CAD. This study used descriptive correlation research design with a cross-sectional approach. This study involved 138 respondents they are CAD patients in hospital dr. Soebandi Jember obtained by the accindental sampling method. Data was collected using the questionnare of Spiritual Intelligence and Cardiac Self-Efficacy (CSE). Data were analyzed by using the Somers’d test. The results showed that there was a significant strong correlation between spiritual intelligence and self-efficacy in hospital dr. Soebandi Jember (p = <0.001, r = 0.628. It is mean that if patient have high spiritual intelligence it will be followed by high self-efficacy. Nurses can optimise the patient’s spiritual intelligence to improve patient’s self-efficacy in order to manage the health of patient with CAD.
