Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by an increased levels of glucose in the blood and accompanied by other metabolic disorders caused by hormonal disturbances. The prevalence of DM increases every year. DM can give impacts on Quality of Life (QoL) due to complications and DM itself. The aim of this research was to describe the QoL of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in internal outpatients unit at dr. Soebandi Hospital Jember. This research was a descriptive quantitative research with cross sectional approach. The number of sample was 146 type 2 DM patients who were collected through consecutive sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using univariate analysis to define and categorize the QoL. The results showed that 77 respondents (52.7%) had good QoL and 69 respondents (47.3%) had less QoL. The lowest of QoL was found in physical health indicator and the highest was in environment indicator. Therefore, from the result, it is suggested that nurses should improve QoL and give support to patients to maintain their health status.en_US
