This study deals with translation study especially equivalence of verbs in the selected chapters of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code. This study aimed to determine types of equivalence of verbs found in the selected chapters and its translation into Bahasa Indonesia, to find out the dominant type of equivalence of verbs found in the selected chapters and to discover the translation evaluation in it. The theory employed in this study is translation equivalence by Nida. The types of data in this thesis are qualitative and quantitative. They were collected by using stratified sampling method. I only chose 3 chapters from totally 105 chapters as the data to analyze by using descriptive method. Last, I calculate each equivalence found in the selected chapters. There are 98 equivalences to be analyzed. The result shows that the two translation equivalence, formal equivalence and dynamic equivalence, are applied in this study. The highest equivalence is formal equivalence. During the analysis, incorrectness is also found, but it is not more than 15%. In conclusion, according to Machali’s theory about translation evaluation, the evaluation of the translation result is classified as a “good” translation.en_US
