dc.description.abstractHIV/AIDS is the most dangerous contagious sexual disease. It is spreading quickly to all over the world and Indonesia is also a state which threatened by the disease. The high growth of the people infected by HIV/AIDS is mostly caused by unhealthy sexual behavior. A group who has high risk to be infected is prostitutes; their knowledge about the disease determines their sexual behavior. The increase of knowledge and education about the danger of HIV/AIDS to the people are expected to encourage the responsible and positive sexual behavior. The goal of research is to study the relation between the numbers of educated prostitute about HIV/AIDS and their sexual behavior. The research had been done in Puger local prostitution placed on Puger sub-district, Jember District in Desember 2006. The respondents are 36 persons, under consecutive sampling technique. The knowledge level of HIV/AIDS and the sexual behavior are the variables measured by Chi square test. Questionnaire is used as the research instrument. The Chi square test has resulted the significant difference of the variables (P<0.05) which influence the spear point at the symmetric tables. As the conclusion of the research, there is correlation between the knowledge levels of HIV/AIDS which influences the sexual behavior toward the prostitutes in Puger local prostitution placed on Puger sub-district, Jember district.en_US
